Saxmundham Museum Gears Up For Opening

Posted on 26th April 2021

Curator Peter Minta speaks about what the summer 2021 holds for Saxmundham museum.

It’s been a busy closed period for Saxmundham Museum. We plan to open our doors to visitors on a limited basis from May 19th assuming the easing of lockdown restrictions apply.

Initially Saxmundham Museum will be open three mornings a week on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 10.00am – 1.00pm. Our volunteers have worked tirelessly to ensure that Covid secure conditions have been put in place, in a similar way to 2020, when we were able to open from mid July until the end of September.

Inside Saxmundham Museum

Visitors will be able to see a completely revamped reception area and retail operation. We have also completely overhauled our displays in the main exhibition area. These displays now ensure a more updated and consistent image for our all our exhibits. In addition visitors will also be able to take advantage of a new screen and sound system in our unique 15 seater cinema.
