Special Delivery is an intergenerational project, led by Suffolk Artlink, that explores the art of communication. The project is inspired by letters and other documents held by Suffolk Archives and Suffolk museums and is led by a team of artists including theatre-makers, creative writers, visual and digital artists.
Background
Working in primary schools and residential care homes in three locations – Bury St Edmunds, Lowestoft and Halesworth – Special Delivery took participants on a journey from personal postcards to collective collages, connecting the two groups as they investigated historical approaches to letter- writing and sharing significant correspondence of their own.
The project ran from January 2020 until end of October 2022. Special Delivery aims to create a legacy of resources, including digital interpretation for use by Suffolk Archives, Suffolk museums and schools in the county.

Special Delivery Newsletters
Newsletters were produced in Lowestoft and Halesworth for each programme of work, providing an illustrated journal of the weekly sessions.
All participants received a copy as a reminder of all the fantastic work that was created and all the fun that was had.
