Suffolk Archives collects and holds material that is relevant to the history of Suffolk. 

This includes records of local authorities and bodies in Suffolk, businesses, societies, institutions and individuals, published material, and parish, district, borough and county councils records.

The Hold 

The Hold is located within Ipswich’s unique and regenerating Waterfront. It houses the bulk of Suffolk’s nationally and internationally significant archives. The Hold is also committed to providing an audience-focused service that reaches out to diverse communities in Ipswich, the county and the nation, through its activity and digital programmes, engaging people in new and exciting ways. There is a rolling programme of temporary exhibitions to enjoy so keep a look out for what’s on.
