The National Horseracing Museum houses an internationally important collection of objects, paintings, trophies & racing silks, and its 12 new galleries take the visitor on a fascinating and intriguing trip through the history of “Sport of Kings”.
The exciting displays are enhanced by a range of interactive and audio-visual interpretation that everyone can enjoy, regardless of their existing level of knowledge of horse-racing. Restored to its former glory, The Rothschild Yard showcases the work of the Retraining of Racehorses charity and shows how thoroughbreds can be given a successful life beyond the race track.
The Fred Packard Galleries in Palace House provide a new and permanent home for the British Sporting Art Trust, featuring works by artists including George Stubbs, Sir Alfred Munnings, John Singer Sargent and John Wootton. Works on display include major loans from the Tate and the Victoria & Albert Museum as well as from private and other public art collections.
