The Museum of Knots and Sailor’s Ropework is a small private museum with an unique and important collection of sailor’s ropework, both practical and decorative, together with a large range of tools for the rope and canvas working trades.
A new extension houses all types of rope together with rope making equipment ranging from the most primitive to more sophisticated geared machines.
Visit by appointment only.
A selection of sailors’ sea chest handles, blackjacks, knives with ropework handles, walking sticks and a shaving brush all from the last century.
