Dan Clarke tells us how this time it’s bigger and better than ever before:
“As the year draws to a close, Moyse’s Hall are relaunching their annual movie exhibition, but this time focusing on iconic stars and movies. For ‘Icons of Cinema’ we’ve curated a display from prop and costume makers, and movie specialists, from across the UK. We have screen-used costume worn by Kate Winslet in Titanic, Jack Nicholson as the Joker in Batman (1989), Bruce Lee in Enter the Dragon, and props including the Morgul Knife used by the Witch King to hurt Frodo in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.
Across the 25+ screen used props and costume we have pieces used by Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman whip, and many more from Star Wars: A New Hope, Star Trek: Into Darkness, Guardians of the Galaxy, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Dr Who, and many more.
A supplementary and separate display giving a nostalgic look at original toys and merchandise form TV and Movies of the 70s, 80s, and 90s, are in place after some research into mental health support of those in their 30s-60s, seeking to spark childhood memories. Icons like Mr T, Evel Knievel, and even He-Man, have proved a real positive for those given a sneak peek before the exhibition officially opens.”
Running from 22nd October – 18th December. Find out more on Moyse’s Hall’s website.
