Earlier this year, Suffolk Artlink curated a display in the cabinet that previously held the Tye Murder Display. The Special Delivery exhibition in the Halesworth and District Museum ran throughout the summer holidays. The exhibition featured work created by pupils from the Edgar Sewter Primary School and the residents at Beech House Residential Care Home in response to the Lincolne family letters. The Lincolnes lived in Halesworth in the early 19th century. Their letters were discovered by a descendant in 2015.
The pupils also produced “museum guides” to lead other younger visitors through the museum. The Special Delivery project overcame the obstacles of the pandemic to bring together different generations to explore the similarities and differences of their lives. Neither group had visited the museum before so to go from new visitors to guest curators is a pretty impressive leap to make!
