Search for the Stars at the Museum of East Anglian Life

The Museum of East Anglian Life’s Search for the Stars project aims to transfer all of the museum’s 40,000 paper-based object records over to an online collections management system. Along the way the star searching team have also been identifying ‘star objects’ to be researched for the upcoming travelling exhibition; Fake News in the Age of the Horse.

This mammoth digitisation task is completely volunteer powered and has seen over 200 individuals contribute since it began towards the end of 2017, with many working remotely from all over the world.

If you’d like to join the team to help search for the stars in the museum’s collection please get in touch with Curator Kate Knowlden on kate.knowlden@eastanglianlife.org.uk

Take the Volunteering Challenge with Suffolk Archives

Are you looking to volunteer from the comfort of your own home? Take a look at Suffolk Archives Remote Volunteering and Just a Minute challenges.

From discovering local, or even international, stories in the archive or sharing those stories with local communities, to supporting staff to care for the archive, become part of Suffolk’s story by volunteering with Suffolk Archives.

Volunteers bring the archive to life for researchers and local communities, making more archives accessible and connecting people to the places they live. By volunteering you will develop new skills, make new friends and conserve Suffolk’s history for the next generation.

If you would like to join the remote volunteer team at Suffolk Archives visit the Suffolk Archives website for more information.
