Surrender – Harwich Haven Project
Join Felixstowe Museum for a temporary exhibition marking a bit of long-forgotten WWI local history
Over 100 German U-boats surrendered to British forces at Harwich and were anchored there and off Felixstowe from November 1918 – April 1919.
The mood of the time was captured by WW1 war artists including Francis Dodd and Donald Maxwell whose work can be viewed until the end of June.
The exhibition is on loan from the Harwich Haven Surrender and Sanctuary project.
