Between 1914 and 1918 the world was forever changed after a single shot fired in Sarajevo ignited what would become known as the Great War, a conflict that reshaped nations and cost countless lives.

Join Military Historian Paul Hunt as he brings this pivotal chapter in history to life through powerful accounts of brutal battles, extraordinary events and the personal stories of men who fought till their last breath in what was called the war to end all wars.

Discover genuine artefacts and personal items from those who witnessed one of the deadliest conflicts in history. Among them is the story of Norfolk’s James Nourse, whose remarkable bravery under horrendous conditions at the Somme took him to hell and back, earning him the military medal.

Join The Guildhall this Remembrance Day as we honour the brave souls who gave their lives for the world we know today.
