Railway Heritage Day at Blythburgh Suffolk
Venue: Halesworth to Southwold Narrow Gauge Railway
The Halesworth to Southwold Narrow Gauge Railway CIO is holding another free open day for all at its Blythburgh Heritage Railway Centre just off the A12 near the road to Southwold. We will have film shows, sales stands and light refreshments in the adjacent Village Hall (with disabled parking) whilst the recreated station from 100 years ago our new solar powered train will be in operation. Guided tours of the project allow visitors to see what has been achieved over the past seven year to recreate a railway that disappeared in 1929.
As a special feature a small charge is made to ride the first passenger train operating in 97 years but seeing it in action and all the other activities are totally free.
