IMYA Presents: Nature, Landscape and Sound in Constable 250
Venue: Christchurch Mansion
Join the Ipswich Museums Young Associates on Saturday 19 September from 6pm to 8pm for an evening of creativity and collaboration at Christchurch Mansion, inspired by the Constable 250 project.
This event is an opportunity to meet fellow young creatives and explore our exhibition The Hay Wain: Walking Constable’s Landscape.
We will be joined by Stuart Bowditch, creator of the Constable Ambisonic project, who will share the inspiration behind his work and give you the opportunity to create your own Constable-inspired soundscapes.
We will also be joined by Jesse Jacobs and the team from Suffolk Wildlife Trust, who will explore the influence of nature on artists throughout history and discuss their work to protect these landscapes today.
If talks and activities aren’t your thing, you’re welcome to wander around the exhibition, listen to music, enjoy some food, or relax in our quiet space. This is your chance to experience the museum as part of an event exclusively for young people.
The Ipswich Museums Young Associates (IMYA) are a group of people aged 16 to 25 who organise a series of free events for others in the same age group. This event is part of a programme that begins at Christchurch Mansion and will continue at the newly refurbished Ipswich Museum when it reopens.
IMYA events are designed to be welcoming, inclusive, creative and inspiring spaces where young people can connect, learn something new and make lasting memories.
Spaces are limited, so book your place now. Visit the Colchester and Ipswich Museums website to book
