Tickle your tastebuds over February half-term and meet the flavour makers of our favourite foods such as crisps, ice cream and sweets. Discover the science of taste and flavour with Suffolk-based, award-winning natural flavour specialists, Omega Ingredients and get involved in workshops, tastings and talks and help develop our own Food Museum crisp flavour!

Crisp Flavour Lab – Saturday 11 February, 1.30pm-3.30pm
Join us for a special illustrated talk with Steve Pearce, Omega Ingredients Founder, about the history of crisp flavours. You’ll also be part of a crisp flavour development lab as flavourists from Omega Ingredients create a Food Museum crisp flavour in front of you!

All week in the Bone Building kitchen visitors can taste a selection of weird and wonderful natural flavours including our own delicious Food Museum crisp flavour. Discover how flavours are made including the science behind one of our most important senses – taste.

Valentine’s Hedgerow Tastings – Daily, 11am-1pm & 1.30-3pm
All week we will have delicious Valentine’s Day inspired tasters in the Hedgerow exhibition made with roses, rosehips and hazelnuts foraged from the hedgerow.

Creative Corner – Flavour! – Daily, 11am – 3pm
What are taste buds? How do they help us to experience tastes that are sweet, salty, sour, and bitter? Learn how our sense of taste works and draw on your inner creativity to design your own crisp flavours and packets.

Flavour Fun Milkshake Workshop – Saturday 11 February, 11am – 12noon
Do you love milkshakes? During this hands-on workshop, family groups will be challenged to create a strawberry flavouring from six natural ingredients before making it into a delicious strawberry milkshake to enjoy.
This workshop is recommended for children aged 6+. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
