Farrier Shoeing Demonstration

When: July 24, 2021 Time: 10:00am to 1:00pm Venue: National Horseracing Museum Address: 2 Palace St, Newmarket CB8 8EP, UK Suitable for: All ages

Gavin Moody has 25 years’ experience as a farrier and has worked with some of racing’s most prestigious yards. International jockey Jimmy Quinn is kindly lending Gavin his horse so that he can show us how to fit those shoes onto all four feet of Star!

If you’ve ever wondered about the skill that’s required to make and fit horseshoes, or you’re interested in pursuing a career as a farrier, come along and have a chat with Gavin about the ancient craft of farriery.

The demonstration will take place from 10am – 1pm and is included in your cost of the general museum admission price. Tickets can be book through the National Horse Racing Museum website.

Visit the NHRM website.
