Easter Steam Up
The first big weekend of the 2024 season at The Middy, Suffolk’s only standard gauge preserved railway now has an extra reason for a visit as the museum will be hosting the 34th Bomb Group’s display during 2024 and 31st March will be the opening day.
The 34th BG were deployed at RAF Mendlesham and served with honour and distinction during WWII, with many paying the ultimate price in the struggle for freedom. The Middy is pleased to include this exhibit as part of the history of the railway.
During Easter Weekend all the Middy facilities will all be open, including steam train rides in genuine Victorian 4-wheel coaches, MSLR museum, visits to the Restoration Shed, souvenir shop, café and the Middy real ale bar. Plus Easter Bunny hunts for younger visitors.
