When: July 29, 2026 Time: 10:15 am to 02:45 pm Cost: £6 Suitable for: 5+ Event category: Craft and Making

Venue: Christchurch Mansion

On Wednesday 29th July join artist Margaret Holder to make felted scenes inspired by Constable’s landscapes as part of Constable 250. Participants will have the opportunity to look at pictures of Constable’s work and explore recreating areas through the colours and texture of felt, making a 20cm square to take away! Sessions are 45 minutes long and start at 10:15 AM, 11:15 AM, 1 PM, and 2 PM.

Please book your tickets by visiting the Colchester & Ipswich Museums website

All materials will be provided along with full guidance. This event is suitable for ages 5+. Younger children may need help from an adult. Under-16s must be accompanied by a parent or carer at all times.

This workshop will take place in the Great Hall, located on the ground floor. For helpful information, such as how to find us and what facilities Christchurch Mansion has, we recommend reading the Access information here
