Lynne Ward shares how the museum is going to celebrate:
In 2020 Laxfield & District Museum reached a significant milestone: the beautiful ancient guildhall, which is our home, had seen five centuries pass by and the museum turned 50. However, as we all know, nothing went to plan in 2020 and so two years later we are ready for the double celebration.
The event is FREE and takes place in Laxfield churchyard, in the church, in the museum, along the high street, in the village hall and outside the two public houses.
The main attraction is the living history group, The Companye of Merrie Folke, who have done much TV and film work including the Horrible Histories. The group will be sharing aspects of Tudor life.
The event starts at 11am on Saturday 10th September until 5pm and on Sunday 11th it runs from 11.30am until 5pm.
A full programme will be available on the website nearer the time: www.laxfieldmuseum.onesuffolk.net
