Suffolk Archives has launched an accessible virtual tour of its recent Beyond Labels: Celebrating Disability in Suffolk exhibition, enabling more people to experience the display.

Designed with accessibility in mind, the tour includes images, audio content, high-contrast options, large-format text, and screen reader compatibility. It can be accessed here: https://www.360studioradar.com/360/BeyondVT/index.html.
It was created in collaboration with immersive experience experts Studio Radar, based in Folkestone. Founded by artists Manuel Vason and Rubiane Maia, the company has more than 25 years’ experience across photography, live art, performance, moving image and digital approaches to exhibition documentation.

Beyond Labels began in September 2025 and runs until May 2027. Made possible by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, the project brings disabled artists, researchers, volunteers and community organisations together to explore Suffolk’s disability heritage through creative practice, oral histories, archives and co-production.
A touring display has also been all over the county this summer, including The Bridge School, Northgate School, Grove Court Nursing Home, Saxmundham Library, Mildenhall Library, Brandon Library, Woodbridge Library, Haverhill Arts Centre and The Long Shop Museum.
Suffolk Archives, a Suffolk County Council service, would like to hear from people with lived experience of disability and carers to record oral histories or utilise our online collecting form from which future generations can learn. It’s also holding community archive workshops, to enable groups with lived experience of disability preserve their own records. Anyone interested in sharing their experiences, taking part in a workshop, or hosting the touring exhibition is encouraged to contact Suffolk Archives at archives@suffolk.gov.uk
