Jamie Thompson has news from the Alfred Corry Museum:
Volunteer stewards and trustees at the Museum (along with Jazz and Oscar) put up swift boxes at the museum. We are taking part in the RSPB’s Swift Bird Conservation Project and are trying to encourage swifts to nest on the northern wall. It is hoped that this will encourage families of swifts to produce young and help stop the decline of the species.
Please do come and visit us at Museum – it’s well worth it! The curator Frank Upcraft has produced a display this year of Southwold’s connection to the Royal Family celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee year.
We are also looking for more Stewards to volunteer at the Museum. It involves around 3 hours on a morning or afternoon and if you would be interested in helping at the museum please feel free to contact the museum on 01502 723200. Full training and mentoring is provided. Find out more on the museum’s website.
